It’s been six weeks without a post, and I’ve been struggling to think of an excuse. There’s plenty for me to talk about – I suppose I’ve just been lazy and distracted.

Just before Christmas, I did some more filming with Sky Arts for their new series, AOTY (Artist of the Year) Masterclass. I filmed two 30‐minute episodes in one day – which might not sound like much, but 14 hours on your feet, effectively teaching, is a killer.
I loved it, though, and the editor/director, Nelda Sale, was a brilliant guide. Teaching, I find, comes quite naturally, but staring into a camera in a silent room certainly does not. I think it’s the one-way traffic that’s hard to acclimatise to.
And finally, I had a great night at this year’s Pastel Society show at the Mall Galleries in London, where I’m grateful to have two drawings selected for their annual exhibition.
I hope this year brings me more commissions and perhaps more filming opportunities. Until next time… but not for another six weeks!
